Loki is the current Fool of The Palace on Domus Prime. He is generally a happy-go-lucky kinda guy, but can get into remarkably dark moods, which he puts down to the time he spent homeless on Corellia. He is extremely fit and agile, as the life of an acrobat is a demanding one, and is a competant lightsabre fighter as well, though because he never learned to fight using the Force to guide him, he lacks the fluid grace of trained Jedi.

His signature trick as a Fool is spinning lightsabres, and while his marotte Stick also contains a hidden lightsabre he does not use this while performing. This trick was based on Melvin Jester's juggling lightsabres, as Loki greatly admired the elder entertainer. It is similiar to breakdancing, however with lit lightsabres (up to 6) placed on various parts of Loki's body, all kept in motion by the dance underneath. He hasn't quite learnt how to finish the trick without dying yet, but he's sure it will come in time.

Stick

Loki is almost always accompanied by his reliable Stick, a marotte he created while an apprentice (Juggler) in the Union. Stick is made of the highest quality synthetic wood, except for the head adorning it which is made from the skull of a Corellian sand panther cub. The head is a replica of Loki's own, though his wig is not currently up to date with Loki's newest hairstyle, nor are the colours on his collar and hat. His collar has bells on.

Inside the syntha-wood outer coating lies the lightsabre Loki took from his old Master upon his death and a pair of nunchucks that screw together to form the majority of Stick's shaft.

The Jedi Years

Loki was born to Dagul and Lel Brode, and named Dougal after his father. He was not discovered by the Jedi straight after his birth, as his midichlorian count was not any higher than an average baby's, though he was noticed to have an awareness of the Force. A secondary search discovered that his Force ability was high enough to merit training, and he was taken against his parents wishes. He was named L'Armon Brode and though he was extremely capable in all areas of study when the time came to learn of the Force he was disappointed to find that, while he could feel it within him, he could not harness it as could most Jedi. He remained in the temple for another few years as his masters tried to get him to recognise the Force, but to no avail. When his Master Ashiin Heran was killed looking for his former padawan, Pri-Yon Kuan, L'Armon ran away from the temple, returning to his parents on Corellia.

The Corellia Years

When he reached his home on Corellia he was shocked to find that his parents did not accept him for their son. They closed the door on their failure, claiming he was not their son, and turned to their remaining children. He spent some time slumming it on Corellia as a thief and a grifter, not knowing what to do with his life. One day he heard rumours of a Dark Jedi who could use the Force in a way that others could not, and decided to sneak back into the Jedi Temple to look him up.

Loki joins the Entertainers Union

He stowed away on a ship destined for Coruscant, not able to afford to buy passage. He was discovered on the ship and found that it was owned by the The Royal Court Entertainers Union. After using his charm and wit to stop them releasing him out of an airlock, they decided to take him in as one of their own and when asked his name, he called himself Loki, after the Corellian God of mischief.

He amassed a great deal of wealth doing kid's parties around the Galaxy, still searching for one that would be able to unlock his powers. He followed the career of Melvin Jester closely, a big fan of the entertainer's work. It was while following this career that he learnt of one of Jester's friends, and when he got a chance he snuck into the Jedi Temple, using his continued status as a Padawan to access information about "The Riddler". When he heard that he was on a planet called Domus Prime, a monarchy formerly entertained by the famous Jester family, he requested the job from the Union.

Loki arrives on Domus Prime. Hijinks Ensue

Once there, he soon met Anthra, one of The Queen's handmaidens, who was being attacked. Helping to calm her down, the two became friends, and soon started dating, earning him the attention of Devron Zal. While protective of Anthra, Zal got on well with Loki, and when Anthra was kidnapped by Tiber Carthage, the two infiltrated the base that Tiber had erected and rescued her.

Loki also met K in the Palace library soon after arriving on Domus Prime. The Ettal Makt user was able to unlock Loki's latent power, and became his instructor and mentor. Loki also learnt some Jedi techniques from Jedi Nay before she died.

Unfortunately for Loki, Anthra learnt of Loki's slight bloodthirty nature, something he tried to supress since leaving Corellia's slums. Now afraid of him, Anthra broke off the relationship.

Expanded Universe

Loki was one of the main characters in the spin-off story When Duty Calls. With the senshi off planet, and youma attacking, Palomene was forced to unlock hidden powers of Loki, Devron, Liam, and Jester. With the henshin pen given to him by Palomene, Loki tranformed into Sailor Maui, and defended Domus Prime from the attacking youma.
